Veere Di Wedding – A bizarre fairytale

Veere Di Wedding is not a relatable film. I’d like to meet those who thought otherwise because it seemed like a parallel universe to me. A place where everything is measured in money (people only talk in crores!), a world where the protagonists get out of luxury cars in fancy shoes with not a bit of grime on them, strut about in designer wear with perfect hair and makeup. Funny that the ‘fairy’ outfit that Kalindi (Kareena Kapoor Khan) scoffed at, was possibly best suited for this movie that is a bizzarre fairytale set in the mythical place called Veere Land.
